
While MVCEF will retain its status as founder and supporter of Messiah Academy, the Academy will be governed by an active, distinct Board of Education. Messiah’s Board will develop policies and protocols that will lead to the continuity and assurance of a quality, standards-based learning environment. Under the Board’s direction, an administrative leadership team will supervise day-to-day operations of the Academy with a staff of approximately 40 faculty and support members.
As a private institution, Messiah Academy’s decision to be fully registered with the New York State Department of Education is one of choice rather than mandate. Voluntary compliance with NYS learning standards will include secondary level students taking Regents courses and examinations. These state wide assessments will be thought of as only one benchmark in the pursuit of academic excellence.
