J. Zane Smith
J. Zane Smith is a founding partner of Beneco, Inc., a national employee benefits company serving clients in 38 states. Zane is the Senior Vice President and Principal Partner. Founded in 1986, Beneco, Inc. serves clients in the construction industry and has an annual sales volume of $80 million.
In addition to his leadership role for Beneco, Inc., Zane is also a managing partner and principal in other companies with both national and regional scope, including Benesystems LLC; Columbus Dairy Co.; Mustard Seed Properties LLC. and Agent Management Systems, Inc.; and The Old Seabiscuit Corp.
Zane is the President of the Mohawk Valley Christian Education Foundation, Inc. and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Randallsville New Life Church. He is also involved on the national level with other boards and committees in the investment and agricultural industries.
Zane and his wife Shannon reside in Earlville, NY with their five children.
GAETANO L. BELMONTE
Gaetano Belmonte is a respected member of the Mohawk Valley community and is considered a knowledgeable professional in the financial services and real estate industries. With a long standing reputation as a community innovator, Gaetano is currently a Realtor with Prudential Real Estate. He is a New York State Licensed Real Estate Agent; a member of the Utica Rome Board of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. He has also been affiliated with Prudential Insurance and Investment Companies, Utica National Insurance Group, and Metropolitan Investment Companies. At Metropolitan he served in a leadership role as Regional Director of Training and Marketing.
He holds the A.O.S. in Retail Merchandising Management from Central City Business Institute, Syracuse, New York. He also earned a number of New York State insurance and financial services licenses including: NYS Life; NYS Health and Accident; Series 6 and Series 63; New York State Property and Casualty.
Gaetano is currently pursuing his Bible and Doctrine Diploma from Global University, Springfield, Missouri. He draws upon his gifts in the marketing field in his service to the ministry. His ministry experiences include serving as Media Outreach Director; and implementing comprehensive marketing programs for churches in the effort to embrace the community. He has contributed to the work of Christian education in the Mohawk Valley region by designing, developing and teaching several adult Christian education classes. He has served as an Itinerate Licensed Minister and guest speaker at several churches throughout Central New York.
Gaetano resides in Clinton, New York with his wife Maryrose and their two children Angela and Dante.
Jane Willis
Jane Willis, a life-long resident of the greater Utica area, has served most recently as Director of Youth ministries at Immanuel Baptist Church in New Hartford. Ministering locally in numerous areas of Christian education in various Bible-believing churches, Jane has held a longstanding dream of being part of a local Christian school dedicated to the integration of faith and learning, providing academic excellence, with the goal of training students who will influence their culture and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jane holds a Bachelors degree in Bible and Theology from Gordon College. For 18 years, Jane and her husband Tom worked with the Rome-Utica Youth for Christ where they discipled teens from the Clinton, Waterville, New Hartford, Oriskany, Whitesboro, and Holland Patent areas. They now enjoy seeing those students serve the Lord in all walks of life throughout our local area, the US, and abroad.
Jane has taught elementary education at the former Utica Christian Academy, and, as such, is well aware of the great challenges this vision for Christian education will face. At the same time, she is also well aware of what God can accomplish when believers come together, unified around a vision God has brought before them.
Jane brings further experience to the Foundation in the area of library science as a former Director of Children’s Education at the New Hartford Public Library.
Jane has been married 25 years to Tom. Jane and Tom are the parents of three children: Chris, a student at SUNY Brockport; Kara, a student at MVCC; and Andrew, a kindergartener. The Willis’ reside in Clinton.
Paul R. Johnston
Paul R. Johnston is a team leader with New York State’s oldest architectural firm, King and King Architects, LLP and has a focus in the educational market.
He has designed schools across upstate New York with an average construction project cost of more than $10 million and is certified as an LEED Accredited Professional.
He is a graduate of Syracuse University where he received his professional Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1996, and is currently completing the National Architectural Registration Exam to earn his New York State license. Paul is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association.
He is a member of the Mohawk Valley Christian Education Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors, and, with his firm, takes the lead in the design of the new school project with the Foundation.
Paul, his wife Danielle, and their three children reside in Hamilton, NY where they volunteer for a number of local Christian organizations.

Alan E. Chandler
Alan “Al” Chandler has been a respected member of the insurance and financial planning community since 1987. In 1994, he established the partnership firm of Chandler and Edem Financial Consultants. Al specializes in small business employee benefit management and individual retirement planning.
In 1985, he was awarded the bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from the State University of New York at Albany. He obtained his Life Underwriter’s Training Council (LUTCF) designation in 1992. Since 2005, also member of National Association of Health Underwriter's (NAHU) and Christian Financial Planning Network (CFPN). Al has been a member and board member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) since 1988 and the Society of Financial Services Professionals (SFSP) since 1991. He previously served as Chairman of the local LUTC continuing education classes. He has been affiliated with the securities dealer Cadaret Grant Co., Inc. in Syracuse, NY as an independent financial advisor since 1994 and is licensed to conduct securities business in nine states in the nation.
Since 1991, he has also served as Youth Pastor and, more recently, Assistant Pastor of Randallsville New Life Church. His minister’s license is held with Elim Fellowship in Lima, NY. He serves as guest preacher at several local and cross-denominational churches in upstate New York. Since 1997, Al has also been Head Boys Basketball Coach at New Life Christian School.
Al and his wife Tammy reside in Morrisville, NY with their two children, both students at New Life Christian School. Their oldest child, Jacob, is a 2003 NLCS graduate.
Pastor Gerald S. Saliba
Pastor Gerald “Jerry” S. Saliba has served as Senior Pastor of the Randallsville New Life Church since 1981.
Jerry attended LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY for two years majoring in Business Administration before transferring to Morrisville Agricultural and Technical College in Morrisville, NY. In 1969, he graduated at the top of his class in the Agricultural Division.
In 1980, Pastor Jerry attended Elim Bible Institute in Lima, NY for Pastoral Studies. His minister’s license is held with Elim Fellowship. Prior to his ordination, he owned and operated Saliba Carpet Cleaning Company in Syracuse, NY and Jeriana Dairy Farm in Morrisville.
Pastor Jerry is the Elim Area representative for ten churches in the Eastern New York area and the National Director of Elim’s Men’s Ministry. He is on the Board of Directors of the Mohawk Valley Christian Education Foundation, Inc.
Jerry and his wife of 50 years, Diana, reside in Morrisville, NY. They have three adult children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Beth S. Krug
Beth S. Krug is a Clinical Research Associate Specialist (CRAS) for PPD Development, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical contract research organizations. Beth has been affiliated with PPD for 12 years. Prior to PPD, Beth was employed by Proctor and Gamble Pharmaceuticals (formerly Norwich Eaton Pharmaceuticals).
She is currently the CRAS for the company’s SWAT Team. In this capacity she provides assistance and troubleshooting on numerous and diverse clinical trials. Over the course of her career, she has worked on studies in infectious disease, women’s health issues, as well as cardiac and renal transplant.
In 1986, Beth earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Colgate University. Beth is an active member of Randallsville New Life Church where she has served in a number of roles including small group facilitator, Sunday School teacher, nominating committee member, and Care Group Provider.
She resides in Oriskany Falls, NY and currently serves in the leadership role as the Vice President of the New Life Christian School Board and is a member of the Mohawk Valley Christian Education Foundation, Inc.
Kevin S. Sykes
Kevin Sykes is the founder and principal owner of Sykecon Industries, Inc., a regional consulting forestry firm serving three states in the Northeast. Since starting the company in 1988, Kevin has developed Sykecon to be the nation’s third largest consulting firm in dollar volume per employee. Sykecon’s clients include small landowners to Fortune 500 companies such as Honeywell International, Inc.
For his achievement in business management and the new techniques in marketing forest products, Kevin has been asked to serve on the NRDD (National Republican Congressional Committee) Business Advisory Council. Kevin’s involvement with the B.A.C. enables him to bend the ear of some of our nation’s leaders such as Tom Reynolds and Tom Delay.
In his “spare time”, Kevin owns and actively manages a 750 acre cash crop farm. This farm is one of a very small number of farms in the U.S. that is used to do research for John Deere, Inc.
Kevin and his wife, Carol, live in Morrisville with their two children. Kevin and Carol are both active members of Randallsville New Life Church in Hamilton, New York.
