One ambitious goal surrounding the creation of the new school will be the pursuit of accreditation with The Association of Christian Schools International. The process of assessment of programs, people, purpose, and facilities consumes three years of concentrated effort.
As the Foundation translates Messiah Academy's vision into reality, it has already begun integrating the steps for accreditation into its overall capital effort. It is imperative that this journey toward excellence happens as the effort to build the new campus unfolds. As the Association reminds us "to desire excellence for ACSI schools is to take seriously our commitment to Christ, whose name is excellent." [Psalm 8:1]
For the Foundation, accreditation will position the Academy as the only private, faith-based Pre-K through 12 school in the entire region with such distinction. The major benefit rests not only with the status of superior standards, but the level of confidence that parents, students and the community at large will have as they experience an educational environment focused on performance, integrity and quality.
The Foundation recognizes that while the campus will be equipped with the highest quality design and construction, there is no intent for these tangibles to replace or supercede the high caliber spiritual and academic themes that truly speak to an environment of excellence. |
Significant to this process will be Messiah Academy's efforts in major areas such as the following:
Philosophy and mission
Academy organization
Admissions
Board governance and finance
School / Home relationships
School / Community relationships
Faculty and staff qualifications
Media resources
Technology
Guidance services
Health services
Transportation services
Student safety and crisis planning |
